Sleeping

We have NEVER traveled lightly. Even when we go across the street to the beach when we are in Newport!  Moving  about did us in.  We know we have the most amazing friends and family around.  We could not have done it without them.  I honestly cannot believe the efforts and selfless time our friends and family put into making our move possible.  Jared asked as we finally began driving to Salt Lake on Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. "what one word discribes our move?"  We decided on EXHAUSTING! We pulled into my parents as the sun began to lighten the rainy sky at 5:30a.m.  Since then we have been in a coma.   As soon as we wake I have some fun posts.  Stay tuned!  Loves to all :)

Kitchens...the heart of the home

I picked up this great magazine on one of my many trips to Home Depot.   Beautiful KITCHENS & Baths (BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS SPECIAL INTEREST PUBLICATIONS)  I usually just quickly look through magazines at the check out counter....this one I had to have!  As I dreamed of the Dream Kitchen I would have... I realized that I could not decide which ONE I would choose.  Maybe I could have a couple, after all if you dream, dream big!

One day I will be more techno savvy...hence scanned pictures.

On another note:
I also have found a great new drink combo for the hot summer days ahead!  I wish to be at the beach right now with the sand between my toes drinking...Diet Dr. Pepper with grape flavored Crystal Light.  I needed extra energy the other day so I added the the grape ENERGY Crystal light to my fountain Diet Dr. Pepper.  It was so.... good. (not something I do every day).  For regular old beach days just dump normal grape Crystal Light packets into your 44 oz. Diet Dr. Pepper. Ha!

MOVING...... A French Proverb.....

If you would have a mind at peace, a heart that cannot harden, find a door that opens wide upon a lovely garden.
                                                                         ~A French Proverb

I have to say that watching my house here in Vegas become sparse makes my heart feel heavy.  I watched a 27 foot trailer pull away this morning filled with half the contents of our house....never to be a part of this home here again.  My heart sank ...I am hoping like the above mentioned french proverb says...find a door that opens wide upon a lovely garden.  My new home feels to me like a lovely garden! I just want to pack up my friends to take with me...  anyone coming?  PLEASE!!

We closed on our Kingman House...Jared graduated from Medical School!

What a weekend!  We closed on our house in Kingman on Friday!  Then Jared's  parents and my parents came on Saturday. Jared graduated on Sunday!  His school is a Jewish run school so graduation was on a Sunday since Saturday is their Sabbath.  Watching Jared graduate was awesome.  Seeing all of the friends that we have been with through this 4 years of medical school graduate was so neat too!

Instead of madly packing...I have been swooning on this sight  lunabazaar.com ! There are such fun turquoise bottles that will be back in stock on June 5th.  I cannot wait to order them then.  See... this is why I get behind and then start freaking out at how much I have to do!

A Love Story of Sorts....

The sweet little bird house that you see at the top, is a bird house that my Jared made for me.  This bird house is not just any old bird house.  The summer before Jared started medical school, he went to his Dad's house to "work on something".  I had mentioned to him one Sunday when we were in his parent's back yard how much I loved the bird houses that his Dad had made.  Jared decided to make me one.  We had just moved to Las Vegas, and we were back in Salt Lake awaiting the arrival of our baby Jonah.
Many years ago, Jared and I dated for a little over a year before he left on his mission.  I adored him!  Before he left we would swing in his parent's back yard on an old bench swing all the time.  Talking, laughing and eating homemade cookies that his Mom had made.  I have such fond memories of that time. Through the years and the snowy winters, Jared's parents had to take the swing down because it was old and too dangerous to have anyone swing on it any more. Many times since, I have wished myself  right back to that swing, where such happy times and memories where made.  The sweet little bird house is made out of the wood from "our" swing!  Isn't that awesome.
The picture of Jared and me is from years ago too.  It is our engagement picture.  I have been doing a lot of reflecting as we pack and move our lives to another place.  I have really been  struggling to let go...  then today when I saw my hard working Husband try on his graduation cap and gown,  I couldn't help but be overcome with excitement and respect for our next phase.  So perhaps life is like this bird house.  We can cherish the time and memories we have made.  For sometimes, it would be too dangerous to leave things as they are.  The friendships that I have made can come with me for a life time.  Perhaps not as the "swing" but as the "bird house".  Maybe not right in the same town but in my heart and on my cell phone!

Old dresser....my new BUFFET!

Here is the before:

BUFFET...trying to decide wich knob I like more.  The crystal chandilier will be above the dinning table in the same room. I was thinking  that the crystal knobs would reflect the lighting well.  However, I have votes for the brushed knobs as well.  Hmmm.

Something to look forward to!

Having something to look forward to is a must! It is HOPE.
One thing that I am really looking forward to is this:

Drum roll..........

Look at these too!

P.S. Besides the chandilier, one can always hope anyway!

Friday Favorites!

I am typing this post at 9:00 on Friday night. We have had an awesome and busy week!
First off, I think that spending time reading with my three boys is one of my Favorite things this week. My Mom has always said, "The more you read the smarter you are, the smarter you are the more you read." It is also one of my favorite sayings of hers. I love when there is a book that catches the boys intrest and their eyes sparkle with intrigue. Jake and I are reading Harry Potter The Sorcerer's Stone together. I have never gotten into these well loved books, so we decided that this summer is probably the time to do it. My Jacob is used to having an entire street of about 7 boys that all hang out and play together. So, I thought that with our move to Kingman, Harry might be just the thing to keep us a little preoccupied. After each book we finish, we will watch the movie. Jake has already seen a few of them. Still, I think it will be fun to do together.

Reading with Talmage and Jonah brings great times too! Jonah gets so excited about all the things he see's on a page, who needs an author? Jonah does a great job at narrating the story, Talmage is usually so frustrated by the second page. Talmage is a great listener and is starting to read a bit on his own. I just love when Talmage is cracking up or thrilled with what is going to happen next. We have a lot of favorite books. We love finding new ones to add to our list. Talmage has to write an account of what he has read for his kindergarten homework. Like the title/author/illustrator/setting and his favorite part. The picture above is of Talmage doing his homework and writting his favorite thing that happens.

Our Favorite book of the week is: I'm Not Going Out There! Such an ADORABLE
book!

Our Favorite Chef of the week goes to Jonah! He came upstairs yesterday with a Ham sandwich that he made all by himelf! There were 5 pieces of bread with a little bit of ham. Jared and I could not believe that he had gone downstairs and gotten the bread and ham out all by himself. Jared said that when he went down to the kitchen to check out the damage, there really was not a mess. Just the bag of ham and the bread. What a big boy.

Time to start PACKING...stay tuned as the transition takes place!

This is my wall of mirrors. It was a project I so enjoyed. During the first two years of Jared's medical school process, he was never home. I found myself needing "projects" something to keep myself busy. So, slowly I collected these different mirrors. They each have a fun story to them. The big red one is one of my favorites. I found this one at an antique mall here in Las Vegas. It is really old and has a story. I wish it could tell me where it has been. It tells of my boys running up and down the stairs in front of it. How it has watched them grow and change. These mirrors have reflected my new baby growing into a energetic, funny four year old, and all of the days in between. Now, I will take each of them down, and the red one will again move to a new chapter in it's life. I am anxious to see the new wall will look like. What will they reflect over these next years? Stay tuned as the new mirror wall forms and takes shape! It will be exciting.
